In his widely acclaimed book 'Nazis of Copley Square: The Forgotten History of the Christian Front', Fr. Gallagher tells the story of a group of American terrorists who, in the name of God, conspired to overthrow the U.S. government and form an alliance with Hitler. Members of this self-proclaimed anti-Semitic and anti-Communist group known as the Christian Front were charged with seditious conspiracy, the same charge leveled against the leaders of the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers for their alleged roles on January 6, 2021. In this presentation, Gallagher will summarize the history of Christian nationalist groups and discuss their influence on today's far-right movements.
