The University of Scranton Counseling Center joins with the broader Student Life, as we commit ourselves to the integration of high-quality student learning with the development of the whole person. For the Counseling Center, this entails the promotion of well-being, personal growth, and interpersonal development of all students at the University.
Mindful of our Jesuit tradition, we emphasize respect for the student both as a unique individual and as a member of the University. In service of the student, the Counseling Center collaborates with and acts as a consultant to all divisions of the University.
While we work primarily with individuals and small groups within the University community, we are also keenly aware of our role in forming men and women, who will be agents of change in the world community.

Life of the Mind events introduce students to the richness of intellectual life at The University of Scranton. During a given academic term, numerous Life of the Mind opportunities are available. First-year seminar (FYS) students are encouraged to attend these events to form habits of intellectual inquiry that will enrich their time at The University of Scranton and beyond.

The University of Scranton Bands, Choirs and String Ensembles offer high quality instrumental and choral performing ensemble opportunities in a variety of formats ranging from very large ensembles, to small ensemble and solo performing opportunities. Participation is open to any and all interested university students (as well as faculty, staff and administration) with no individual audition requirement nor enrollment or membership fee, in the finest liberal arts tradition.

Partners in learning, leadership, and reflection (PILLAR) is a pedagogical partnership program that pairs students with faculty to create, support, and enhance inclusive learning environments that encourage and value all learners at the University of Scranton. Pairs of students and faculty work together as peers to discuss, design, implement, and assess pedagogy focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. The PILLAR program values the expertise that students possess about the learning experience and invites them to be agents of pedagogical change on campus.

Motivated by the life and work of St. Ignatius, the work of the Gail and Francis Slattery Center for the Ignatian Humanities seeks to advance the study of the humanities at the University of Scranton by supporting the work of both undergraduate students and faculty pursuing research and creative endeavors in the humanities, and by supporting the work of humanities departments. It will create opportunities, through speaker series, lectures, workshops, and the like for members of the campus community to engage with the work and ideas of scholars and artists from all over the world. In doing so, the Center will create a community of humanities researchers, highlighting the importance of these scholarly and creative endeavors and celebrating their contributions to human understanding.

Through the cultivation of an authentically humanistic ethos, and in taking seriously the guiding principle of an Ignatian education – namely, the formation of men and women for and with others - the Center and the work supported therein will aim to:

- Advance a deeper understanding of the relationships between faith and reason;

- Further the development of intellectual curiosity, critical examination and re-examination, and the skills associated with thoughtful and respectful dialogue;

- Seek interdisciplinary solutions to contemporary problems, with an eye towards justice and moral development;

- Promote an understanding of common human experiences;

- Help us to interrogate our collective past, and work towards a better future;

- Create space for work and expression within the humanities for historically excluded voices;

- Help us to identify our ethical responsibilities as people, professionals, citizens, and stewards of Creation;

- Create opportunities for dialogue and understanding through encounters with cultural and religious pluralism;

- Move towards a world in which the dignity of all people is equally respected, as we grow in our encounters with difference; and

- Engage the local community with the work of the Center.

The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides no-cost, confidential consulting and quality training programs to entrepreneurs and small businesses across an eight-county region in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Part of the Kania School of Management and supported by the SBA, PA DCED, and University of Scranton, the SBDC helps businesses start, grow, and succeed.
